I'm not to sure how many of are going to test the waters for a third time. I've been to the one in Fort Collins a few times and the few that I have missed (because of going to the ABQ ones) I feel like I have shot myself in the foot, the same foot.

I'll shoot you in the foot this time, if it makes you feel better gooby. You can shoot my foot at the same time! It'll be great. Anyways, where was that FAIL intel lanfest? Was that in AlbyQQ? I really don't wanna drive anywhere further than there for a LAN right now, Fort Collins is just too far away...

Oh and to make sure things don't get out of hand:

Cobalt and his crew actually did a fantastic job running the consoles (I think I overheard some people wanting a more diverse selection, but with what yall had, it was great) along with the Twitter idea and the love sacks! OMG LOVE SACKS, EVEN FOR PC FOLK! If I was a console whore, I would go back!

Its been a while Cobalt, you have a link to your site again, PLEEEASE?

LANfest NM in the past hasn't been -bad-, per se, just not organized, planned well, or run by people who know anything about putting on gaming events.

It's under new management now. That's why we're trying to do 2 in a year rather than 1. The Cure Gaming is running the entire show this time, PC and console. LANfest NM CureLAN.

Let me put it this way; the event is 4 months away, and registration is going live within 2 weeks. The floorplan is done. The advertising is ready. The tournaments are decided and planned, complete with an online registration system, and prizes are already in the works. We have a BYOC Hardware profile for check-in and check-out (Quakecon style). We have security planned out. We've extended the event by 10 hours. The schedule is -almost- done. And wait till you see what the Console Lounge is gonna have in store. All that, a third of a year out.

Doesn't sound much like LANfest at all, does it? :)

Our site is http://www.thecuregaming.com , though aside from the LANfest teaser and pics from last year, we don't have much on there right now, and wont 'till we officially announce the event and tournaments, quite soon. Then we will start doing CureCasts and fun stuff like that again to promote LANfest :)

Sounding better yet? ;)

You're like the son that is older than me that I will never have. :') If you need help with anything let me know. I guess I'll be going back to ABQ.

Hehe :)

Thanks! We are going to start advertising very soon. Would you be at all willing to spread the word up there? We want to pack this event out so well that the one in October will be twice as big. I can send you our fliers and posters (when they're done) if you're interested in putting them up anywhere.

Whatcha think?

That sounds awesome. The previous lanfests (besides maybe the first one that we went to in Alb) were horribly organized, tournaments always collided together, and it was a pain in the ass to put it lightly...the organization that you guys seem to be doing appears to be just what the lanfests need.

Will the lan still be at the intel facility? also i think a lot of how successful the lan is comes from the amount of sponsors so hopefully we can get full sponsorship from intel again.

We like to think we are bringing much needed organization to the way LANfests are run. And we will be talking much more about the specifics very soon.

The event will be officially announced in the next few days and event and tournament registration will be open as well. We have all the same sponsors from last year, and are working on a few more.

One thing that seems to be a big issue at all the LANfests, not just NM, is that people don't ever pre-register and pay until the very last minute. This is something we are trying to fix. We want to make attendees understand that pre-reg is everything to a sponsored event; its how we get prizing, sponsors, and continued support for future events. If no one pre-registered for, say, Quakecon until the last minute, they wouldn't have the sponsor backing that they do, regardless of their size. Why people don't pre-reg but continue to ***** about the amount of prizing is beyond me... Anyway, one way we are trying to remedy this is with online tournament registration that attendees can access after they have paid for their spot. With limited official tournament spots, there is some incentive to get registered early.

Minideezel
Diamondman

Skyfox
Goober
Spooner
RageKitten
Vasectomy
Hazzardtrak

We have already gotten row J for the Durango group.

Sounds like this is gonna be a fun way to kick off summer.
